Statement


Anything we consider to be meaningful and reflective of its meaning is the result of varying forces and functions. The combination of which might just as well be described as combustible as it would be cohesive. Meaning is unstable in nature and is able to shift considerably from situation to situation. This ontological slippage exists on the horizon of each attempted definition - like the experience of saying a word so many times it loses meaning. Language is a constant negotiation; an attempt to surmount the void existing between our internal and external worlds. Since there is no such thing as a complete definition, a complete definition would have to be endless. My studio practice is the embodiment of this paradox.
